For the first time, the BLIA Cup adopted an end-to-end Live Content Automation approach, powered by Spot’s AI Live Film Room. Within just days, the entire content operation—from live feed to highlight generation—was up and running. Highlights that previously took one to two hours after each game were now published within a minute during the game itself. This shift allowed their marketing team to respond to the pace of social media, pushing out captivating moments as they happened.
The results were immediate. Compared to the previous year, the BLIA Cup saw a 2.5× increase in reach and engagement. With a larger volume of high-quality clips produced faster, organizers were able to distribute tailored highlight packages to each of the participating teams. These were quickly shared by the teams themselves, extending the tournament’s visibility across borders and drawing attention from international players, scouts, and leagues.
“The BLIA Cup has always followed Venerable Master Hsing Yun’s belief in education through sports,” said Liu Chao-Ming, President of the San-Hao Basketball Association. “Through our partnership with Spot, we not only improved the technical quality of our video production, but also helped young athletes visualize their progress and potential. We believe that integrating technology into youth sports can open up more possibilities for their future.”
This year’s tournament was also the first time all participating teams had direct access to a scouting system, powered entirely by Spot. In just a few days, teams generated close to 1000 clips for tactical breakdowns, player performance analysis, and internal reviews. This democratized access to professional-level video tools not only improved team performance during the tournament, but laid the foundation for long-term player development.
“We are honored to partner with Spot for this year’s BLIA Cup,” said Rick Chen, Head of Commercial of Spot. “Their AI-driven editing and integration tools enabled the tournament to instantly capture and distribute top plays, delivering value not just to the event organizers but to players and fans worldwide. We hope this collaboration can be a starting point for more university-level sports events in Taiwan to adopt world-class production standards.”
From mid-game social media content to full scouting libraries, the BLIA Cup is now setting a new standard in university sports content. With Spot’s automation tools, every moment became an opportunity—for visibility, for growth, and for impact.
